Today we celebrate the Army day, and I realized that 25 years ago I decided to volunteer and become a paratrooper.

I remember the excitement of the whole deal, I am gonna jump from a plane, be the king of the world, I said to myself.

Well the reality was a little bit different, we made probably over 40 marches and took me 8 months of preparation to jump for the first time.

First I learned how to pack my shute, and make sure it is perfect folded, second we learned survival techniques and endurance, the point is for some minutes of fly we worked 8 months.

What is the lesson here?

Many professionals decide to leave their careers and to become entrepreneurs and many of them want to jump and enjoy the fly immediately.

If we look over the websites we see a lot of words about ME how smart, well trained, extremely good specialist and so on, in other words buy ME now because I WANT so.

Is this the right way? Certainly not, even the mis-use of Social Media for selling services and products shows the lack of understanding of the newcomers.

What is the context now? It is clear that the game changed and all sales and marketing strategies are different.

My intention is to give for 6 weeks my perspective of the new SALES CODE, if you want to listen the audios on this go to www.iconsultants.ro and subscribe.

And one more thing, look at your business and ask yourself this question: Can I sell my business now?

I remember my struggle to find the coaching school perfect for my taste. Asking Steve Mitten, he mentioned that in general the school you follow is the one you recommend and believe is the best. What does it mean? It is like the story with the best car, many times is the one you recently got!

Why is that perception so strong?  For starters we have high expectations and if we feel great during the journey we have the tendency to advocate and speak highly about this. It happened to me with some great schools that I graduated.

But, is it true? Can we be absolutely sure that ,what we have experienced, will fit others?

I believe that we cannot be sure, it is better to let people choose what they really want, and if we are strong believers to manage our convictions.

The whole point came to me yesterday during the ICF Romania first conference when I received feedback about a coaching demonstration. We become attached by our own perceptions and they become our reality. A little tolerance, emphaty and why not risk is more than welcome when you want to leave the comfort zone.

Or in other words, get rid of the ego, chill, life is beautiful!

I remember the first day of training in San Rafael, this was a statement that invited us to share and be unattached to any of our personal agenda.

In a world of billion news and events how can we stay in the now, without being influenced by the circumstances? Difficult and what is more, we get incentives from school, college, family, politicians, church and friends that we trust, so in the end we discover a new reality painted by others.

For me that request was so strong, that I barely resisted and at the end of the first day went back feeling sick. My mentor at that time suggested this venture for me, to see what coaching is and if resonates with me.

The following day when I was coached the guilt and some unfinished personal business overwhelmed me and I could not stop crying. What is in this new profession that makes you aware about yourself and connects you with a different person?

Well, needless to say that I am still looking for this answer, one thing is clear now, who I really am!

Just heard that GM goes bankrupt and some of the major brands are getting sold. First is Hummer, the potential buyer comes from China. Wow, some years ago this was quite impossible, but now, well seems to be true.

What is new? For starters, the economic power of China is becoming evident, they manage to be recognized for their technological power, not only for the ability to copy things.

In his book A whole new mind, Daniel Pink explained the wind called Asia, now we see that he was right.

An old joke say that the difference between an optimist and a pessimist is that the optimist learns English and the pessimist Chinese.

One of the major entry barrier for any business in China is language, I guess all the companies that made it there are full of sad guys!

Or maybe they left the corporate pride and relied on local expertise. Good or bad I remember that Romania was in very good relation with China, I wonder what is happening now?

Namaste!

Well, ask as many sales people and they will give you various answers. Some will recall buying signals others will say that they feel this moment, actually both could be right, however we still do not know exactly when this magic moment occurs.

Is this important for a project? Of course it is, what happens if we miss this?

Some prospects will feel sorry for us for a second but hey, most of them will try other solution.

So, there is one way to make sure and this is to ASK

Yes, 80% of sales people never ask for confirmation because of fear and assumptions from their brain.

In other words if your intention is to match the prospect needs with a resonant solution simply ask, you will get a confirmation.

Boy just loved the movie ” Secret”. And last year I was so sure that by changing the mindset and using affirmations followed by some action my practice will fly.  It flew, like the joke with pigs flu, but at low altitude, somehow discrete and now I can see the ground very easy.

As coaches we are trained in schools to coach people without giving them any solution. Let me tell you that this one of the biggest misleading teaching, often used by purists and some other unsuccessful graduates that will only follow a stupid misunderstanding of what a service provider is.

Let us review the issue here, why in world somebody who has no clue on certain items from his personal agenda would hire somebody and pay for hearing: the answer is in you?

So the conclusion is, take this huge opportunity of inspiring people, and ask permission to show them the light.

My 2 cents…

A client of mine recently shared with me that she got three positive answers related to some coaching projects that she was working on some weeks ago.

For a coach it is hard during sessions, when you listen to clients struggle and somehow this situation looks with low chances considering the economic period.

Despite the good news though we sometimes accept them with fear and get concerned about the future steps. Back in 1991 when I got my US entry visa, I remember the struggle and feeling of unknown overwhelming me.

There is a delay between any effort or desire and the result, once we see the outcome we need to stay in the now and celebrate.

We are experiencing now some tough times however the future will bring some good news, are we ready for them?
